The Pharmacy Technician at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Katy provides support in all areas of pharmacy practice including preparation of commercial and investigational IV admixtures, refilling automated dispensing units, care of infusion pumps and continuous quality improvement.

This position will be in our Katy location. The hours for this position will be 9am-5:30pm. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital pharmacy IV room, preparing IV doses.

Key Functions:

  1. Follows all safety standards for handling chemotherapy and hazardous drugs

  2. Restock unit based cabinet inventory consistently and accurately

  3. Completes all pharmacy and institutional QA/CQI assignments on time

  4. Prepares investigational doses by reading the datasheet, follow protocol directions, care when admixing, documenting thoroughly on the investigational card for each drug. Ask for assistance from a pharmacist if needed.

  5. Issues and receives pumps accurately and consistently cleans all pumps.

Salary Range: $33,200 - $41,500 - $49,800


Required: High school diploma or equivalent.


Required: No experience required.

Preferred: Experience in a hospital Pharmacy IV room preparing IV doses.


Required: Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Preferred: ACPE approved IV (sterile products) certification. Current Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) would be a plus.

OTHER: Must pass pre-employment skills a test as required and administered by Human Resources.
