The Pediatric Emergency Department - provides emergency and urgent care services 24 hours a day. The care rendered reflects the availability of services provided by Kingwood Medical Center. The Pediatric Emergency Department is equipped with ambulatory patient access, and has 8 patient care treatment rooms.
The services provided by the Emergency Department include, but are not limited to: * Nursing triage and assessment procedures * Pediatric emergency care and management * Orthopedic emergency care, management and procedures * Ear, nose and throat basic care, management and procedures * General medical emergency care, management and procedures * Trauma stabilization, wound care, suturing, and related management * Medications and intravenous fluid administration * Illness care and management
Kingwood Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) –Pediatric Emergency Department.
_Responsibilities:_ * The Pediatric Emergency RN is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of pediatric patients presenting to the ED in order to provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. * Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant, adolescent, and adult population. * Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care. * Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. * Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. * Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. * Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. * Displays the mission of the hospital and its values.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred
- 2 or more years recent clinical experience in Pediatric Nursing with Emergency Nursing preferred
- Current RN licensure by Texas Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association required
- Current PALS from the American Heart Association required
- Current ENPC certification within 180 days of hire
