Responsibilities:

TheCritical Care Clinical Managerwill be responsible for leading the development of an integrated nursing team approach. They will work directly with the Nurse Director and Educator in development of the nursing staff including education, department competencies, evaluation, performance correction, patient safety, and customer service related issues. The Clinical Manager will assist nursing and care staff in reaching their full potential at each stage of their professional development. The focus will be on developing and enhancing clinical knowledge, technical skills, clinical decision-making skills, professional performance standards and inter-personal skills that nursing and care staff use to provide excellent, evidence based standards of care, and quality services.__ TheCritical Care Clinical Manager: * Adheres to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards. · Ensures departmental functions in support of the Hospital Mission, Vision, and Facility goals. * Manages the daily operations of a patient care department, including forecasting and ensuring adequate staffing, taking departmental call; planning for continuity of care, serving in charge nurse role and providing direct patient care as needed. * Collaborates with physicians, management team members, business partners, and customers to address strategic initiatives and organizational goals. * Participates in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, desired client-centered outcomes, and organizational outcomes. * Considers the diverse needs of each patient through the entire continuum of care, providing and ensuring the highest level of service according to established service standards, optimizing the patient experience. * Ensures adequate scheduling and staffing; recruits, retains, and develops staff; provides performance feedback, addressing issues as necessary, and provides input into staff performance reviews in a timely effective manner. * Promotes a supportive, safe and accountable environment; adheres to all Rio Grande Regional Hospital/HCA policies, procedures, and standards, being a good steward of resources, including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. * Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals, which contribute to the success of the organization; may serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. * Collaborates with the director and educator staff education to maintain staff competencies. * Identifies and remedies problems through Nurse Leader Rounding, continuous customer satisfaction data, and employee involvement * Coaches and develops nursing staff * Use therapeutic communication in daily practice * Participates in department specific initiatives, process improvement,and special projects, when appropriate * Collaborates with the director to maintain staff competencies.

Qualifications: Education/Experience: · Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas · BSN required, MSN preferred · 5 years recent ICU clinical experience and knowledge in Hemodialysis · A Minimum or 2 years in a nursing leadership position preferred · Demonstrates commitment to the Standards of Behavior by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of “/Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life./”//through Teamwork, Integrity, Communication, ownership, Respect, and Safety while ensuring the Power of One. License & Certifications Required: · Current Texas Nursing License · Current ACLS certification · Current BLS certification · Current TNCC or TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) Certification (or obtain within 1 year of hire) Current CCRN certification preferred or to be obtained within one year of hire**
